Another simple idea that I can share in here is to post some of the pictures we took on our visit to the Welsh Marches in August, 2010. Many thanks to Linda, Kathleen, Judy, & friends Elaine & Lucille for an amazing adventure! Any other pics of Vaughan places in Wales, England, USA, are welcome. Just email to grant.vaughn[at]gmail.com, and I'll post them.
Pictures of the Backs (back alleys) of King Street where the Vaughans lived in Witton Park, Durham. We are lucky enough to get views of the fronts of High King Street. To see the back is a rarity.

George Robert Vaugh(a)n born here 1886. |

St. Mary's Church in Hay-on-Wye, Powys. John (1789) was christened here although it's been through much renovation. |

Churchyard in Hay, Powys. Cousin Judy walking among the stone markers. |

Kathleen under yew branches in back of church with less-maintained graves. (A travesty, really. Worse churchyard we saw!) |

Grant, Judy & Kathleen at the site of John Vaughan 1789-1851 grave - unmarked but Judy has a plot map.
It's just west of the path a few feet out from the front door. Hopefully the tree and graves around it will help.
The mountain behind is the Blorenge with the Ironworks and coal mines on the other side.
The Brecon Canal runs at the foot of the mountain (We missed that!)
